MUMBAI: Economic Offence Wing of Police nabs builder Jagdish Ahuja from Punjab; wanted in several cheating cases
Mumbai Police Economic Offence Wing arrested builder Jagdish Ahuja from Punjab on Saturday. The accused is wanted in 3 cheating cases with EOW.
Both father son have duped people of crores on false promises His son Gautam Ahuja is till absconding.They have 335 cases of Negotiable Instrument Act against them.
The duo was picked up from near the Bombay high court on Friday afternoon after they failed to get relief against their six-month conviction in a lower court.
The 14th Metropolitan Magistrate Court had convicted the duo in March 2021 and sentenced them to 6 months’ simple imprisonment in a cheque-bouncing case. The accused had taken a friendly loan of Rs 10 lakh and handed over a cheque that bounced due to insufficient funds. Police said the duo neither filed an appeal against their conviction order nor surrendered before police, due to which their standing warrant was pending.
